EC2010 Planned Reconnaissance Survey on the East Coast of South Africa
The Petroleum Agency is planning a 4,000 km reconnaissance 2D seismic survey in the Natal Valley off the east coast of South Africa. The survey is to investigate regional aspects of the geologic and tectonic development of the eastern margin of South Africa and the hydrocarbon systems of the Natal Valley.
Due to the distance of the survey area from major centres of seismic survey activity the costs associated with mobilisation and demobilisation of the vessel are likely to be disproportionately high and preference will be given to high quality bids that are able to reduce these costs by using vessels that will be in the area already, transiting through the area or where two or more surveys could be combined to reduce such costs.
The tender documents will be available online from the 23 December 2009 until midnight on 14 February 2010. The closing date for the online submission of tender documents is midnight of 28 February 2010.
Please note that two parallel, but separate, tender processes are being conducted for seismic acquisition and seismic processing.
Companies are invited to bid for either or both.
